This workshop will explore a number of issues, from the perspective of
the Labour Movement.
Key issues :
- The importance of equitable growth in the South, to growth and jobs in
the North.
- The role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World
Bank in
forcing an extreme free market, export-led development model in the
South, and the implications of that model for workers in the North and
the South
- Implications of the continuing debt crisis for workers in the North
and South
